Learn how to start your own garden with the help of Dan Rubin!

An experienced gardener, Dan will explain how to grow a wide range of food, flowers, and herbs right in your own backyard. This workshop is perfect for both established gardeners and newcomers. By breaking down the basics of gardening in our challenging climate.

Dan will also have copies of his book available: Sun, Seed, & Soil, along with packets of seeds from the company, Perfectly Perennial Herbs and Seeds. Feel free to share your green thumb journey and ask questions!

Who is Dan Rubin? Dan is a retired educator who moved to Newfoundland over twenty years ago.   He founded the local heritage seed company, Perfectly Perennial Herbs and Seeds, in 2012 with his son, and has gone on to become a garden educator, leading workshops and slideshow presentations to more than 2400 people.

By using a variety of garden beds, Dan has produced a full range of herbs and garden vegetables. With 25 raised beds and 27 fruit trees on his property, he has also harvested many pounds of grapes, kiwis, peaches, plums, cherries and apples.
