Come celebrate Recreation Month and cultural diversity at our outdoor event, Rec Around the World!
In conjunction with the Government of NL, we’re hosting an outside multicultural event at Peter Barry Duff Memorial Park on June 14 from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. that’s full of sports, entertainment, delicious food, and arts and crafts.
Try your hand (or foot) at various sports including basketball, cricket, pickleball, soccer, and bocce ball. Not a sports fan? No worries! We’ll have activities the whole family will enjoy including henna art, face painting, a scavenger hunt, and cornhole. And if that wasn’t enough, try some tasty treats from Olaf’s Kitchen, Rockateer Treats, or a hot dog from the Lion’s Club while you take in the live entertainment from Prencia and Belize, Burundian Cultural Dance, Ty Simms, Member of Salt Beef Junkies, Rosalia & Vex Extravaganza, Newfoundland Drag Queens, and Mi’Kmaw Drummers. And last but not least, feel free to browse various local craft and community booths such as Signage Clothing and Crafts, Sweet Dreams Native Crafts and Jewellery, Paradise Lions Club and Quadrangle NL.
Let’s all come together and celebrate the different cultures in our province during Recreation Month!
